Colbert and Costello Tell It Like It Is
I just finished watching a repeat of Stephen Colbert’s holiday special on Comedy Central, and I have to say that two of the songs they came up with really hit the spot.
First up is this number with John Legend, who I normally dislike very much, about Nutmeg. Yes, the spice. Legend is great in this, finally living up to his name in my book.
Second, here is this treat of a duet between Stephen Colbert and Elvis Costello, and I have to say, this may be a new Christmas standard. Not for carolling, but I can see Harry Connick Jr. and Michael Buble having this song on a chirstmas CD in the future. It’s that good. And if those two guys ever do a duet of this song for a CD, I had better see some royalties, or my lawyer David D. Shank is going to sue your asses. Check it out for yourself:
